Player Selection:
Round Robin
Vipers Management Committee aim to
ensure that all players WITHIN a team get a ‘fair’ amount of court time
throughout the season. Some factors which may influence these decisions are:
• Attitude of the player
• Commitment
• Attendance to training
We expect all players to put in 100% effort DURING not only games, but also
DURING training. Coaches of Non-Competitive teams (7-9s and U10s) will aim to
ensure all players are rotated around all positions on the netball court.
Coaches of Competitive teams (U11 and up) will have a good idea of where their
players’ most suited positions are and will play them in those positions
accordingly. The coaches’ decision must be respected at all times.
Player Selection:
Finals
If a competitive team reaches the
Finals, it is expected that the coaches of these teams will PLAY THE PLAYERS IN
THE POSITIONS THAT GIVE THE TEAM THE BEST CHANCE OF WINNING. Those who are in
the team and are not selected/see limited game time can still be actively
involved by encouraging and supporting their teammates. ALL PLAYERS must also
be ready to take the court immediately if called upon by the coach.
Vipers Management Committee understand that netball is a team sport, and no
individual is greater than the sum of its parts. We encourage fair play AND
sportsmanship at all levels and expect that to be displayed by coaches,
managers, umpires, players and spectators. Please note that if a player is seen
to be playing in an unsportsmanlike manner consistently, he/she will be removed
from the court and spoken to by the coaching staff.
Overall, we wish everyone all the best in their netball endeavours in 2025.
