Vipers Netball Club held our Annual General Meeting on Saturday, 10 October 2026.

Thank you to everyone who attended, contributed and had input into the future direction of our club. The AGM was an important opportunity to reflect on the 2026 season, acknowledge the work that has been happening behind the scenes, and begin preparing for another positive year ahead in 2027.

A heartfelt thank you to our outgoing and continuing Management Committee and Subcommittee members for your dedication, time and effort throughout the past year. So much of what happens at Vipers is made possible by people generously giving their time behind the scenes, and we are truly grateful for everything you have contributed to our club community.

We would also like to thank and congratulate the members who have been newly elected, as well as those returning to continue supporting Vipers in 2027. Your willingness to step forward and serve the club is greatly appreciated.

Our 2026–2027 Management Committee and key volunteer roles will be officially unveiled at our Prizegiving on Saturday, 17 October 2026.

President’s Report Summary

The President’s Report highlighted a very busy and successful 2026 season for Vipers Netball Club.

Throughout the year, the club continued to grow, strengthen and improve across many areas. Some of the key highlights included:

• strengthening our connection with Downey Park Netball Association as our main training venue;
• exploring a pathway with Pine Rivers Netball Association, including entering one team as a trial;
• welcoming The Gibson as our Major Sponsor and recognising their wonderful support of our club;
• introducing Tribal Sports as our new uniform supplier and launching our updated uniforms and new Vipers logo;
• donating discontinued uniform stock to the International Netball Festival Foundation;
• opening 2026 Winter registrations and continuing to improve our registration processes through Majestri and Netball Connect;
• purchasing new equipment, team bags, coolers, wagons, banners and other club resources;
• holding several successful fundraising events, including our Bunnings fundraisers, Mother’s Day Raffle and DPNA fundraiser;
• introducing formal club photos for the first time through Catch Photography;
• supporting junior umpire development through the Umpiring Foundation Course;
• seeing Vipers teams participate proudly in carnivals across South East Queensland;
• providing extra training and development opportunities through Net Sweat Fitness clinics;
• welcoming new coaches and managers while also thanking our returning volunteers;
• continuing to improve club governance, policies, procedures, role descriptions and long-term planning;
• refreshing our social media and website presence to better promote our players, teams, sponsors and club community;
• holding club events including Movie Night and our Volunteer Appreciation Night;
• celebrating five teams making finals, with our U13 Division 1 and U13 Division 3 teams both winning their Grand Finals and achieving an incredible three-peat;
• recognising players selected in representative teams, including players who represented Queensland schools;
• preparing for our End of Season Prizegiving to celebrate our players, families, volunteers and club community.

The report also acknowledged the incredible contribution of our players, parents, families, supporters, coaches, managers, committee members and subcommittee members. Every part of the season relies on people giving their time, energy and support, and Vipers is incredibly thankful for the community we continue to build together.

We are excited for what is ahead and look forward to continuing to build a strong, supportive and positive club for our players, families and wider Vipers community.

Even more incredibly, both teams have now achieved a 3-PEAT — winning their divisions for the third year in a row! What an outstanding effort from every player, coach and manager involved.

We are beyond proud of every single player. The hard work, determination, teamwork and fight you have shown throughout the season has been amazing to watch, and you saved your best for last!

A massive thank you to our coaches, managers, families and supporters who have backed these girls every step of the way. Your encouragement, commitment and support throughout the season has played such a huge part in their success. 🩷

At the end of August, Vipers Netball Club held our Volunteer Appreciation Dinner at The Gibson to thank some of the amazing people who helped make our 2026 season possible.

This night was a small way for us to recognise and celebrate our coaches, managers and committee members who have given so much of their time, energy and effort to our club throughout the year.

From training nights and game days, to team communication, planning, events, administration, fundraising and everything that happens behind the scenes, our volunteers play such an important role in keeping Vipers moving forward.

To all of our coaches, managers and committee members — thank you. Your commitment to our players, families and wider Vipers community is truly appreciated. You are all amazing, and we are so grateful for everything you have contributed this season.

A huge thank you also to The Gibson for hosting us. The food was wonderful, the venue was fantastic, and we are very grateful for your continued support of Vipers Netball Club.

Today, Vipers Netball Club would like to say a huge thank you to all of the umpires who assist us each week with officiating our games.

We appreciate each and every one of you and all that you do for our club, our players and the wider netball community. Whether you are an experienced umpire or still learning and developing your skills, your role is incredibly important.

Netball simply cannot go ahead without umpires. You help keep our games safe, fair and flowing, and we know it is not always an easy job — especially when players, coaches or spectators may not always agree with every call made!

On Umpire Appreciation Day, we want to acknowledge the time, effort, confidence and commitment it takes to step onto the court and officiate. Your contribution allows our players to enjoy the game they love each week.

Vipers Netball Club would like to extend a huge thank you to Nico from NetSweat Fitness for working with our elder teams over the past few weeks and delivering valuable training clinics.

We truly appreciate the time, knowledge and expertise Nico has shared with our players. These sessions have provided our teams with an excellent opportunity to develop their skills, build confidence and continue growing as athletes.

Having experienced trainers and mentors invest in our players makes a real difference, not only for their current season but also for their future development in netball. We are grateful for the encouragement, guidance and energy Nico brought to each session.

We look forward to seeing our players continue to apply what they have learnt on and off the court.

During the school holidays, our Vipers U13s team, along with a few additional players, had the incredible opportunity to take part in the International Netball Festival held at Pimpama on the Gold Coast.

Across four big days of netball, our girls represented Vipers with pride, determination and outstanding sportsmanship. They played amazing netball from start to finish and went undefeated across the entire festival — an incredible achievement!

More importantly, the team created wonderful memories, strengthened friendships and showed what Vipers spirit is all about. Their effort, teamwork and positivity throughout the festival made our club extremely proud.

A special congratulations goes to Emele Hili, who was awarded the Vipers U13s Team MVP. Well done, Emele, on a fantastic achievement!

To all of our players — congratulations on an outstanding festival. You should be very proud of the way you played, supported one another and represented Vipers Netball Club.

We would also like to thank the team at the International Netball Festival for putting together such an amazing event and giving players the opportunity to experience four days of high-quality netball, connection and fun.

Vipers Netball Club would like to congratulate all of our players who represented their associations over the June/July school holidays at the Junior State Age Extravaganza, held at Hinterland District Netball Association.

It was a fantastic event, with beautiful weather, wonderful competition and an outstanding level of talent on show across the courts. Our Vipers players represented their associations with pride, determination and great sportsmanship, and we could not be prouder of the way they played.

A huge congratulations to all of our Vipers girls who took part. You all played so well, worked hard for your teams and did our club proud. It is always wonderful to see our players taking on representative opportunities, challenging themselves and continuing to grow in the game they love.

We would also like to thank Hinterland District Netball Association and Netball Queensland for putting on such an amazing event and creating a memorable experience for all players, teams, officials and families involved.

Vipers Netball Club is proud to announce and congratulate Delilah and Charlotte on their successful appointment as our Junior Club Captains for the 2026 Winter Season.

Both players demonstrated strong leadership, passion for the club and a genuine commitment to supporting their teammates and the wider Vipers community throughout the nomination process. Their positive attitude, teamwork and willingness to lead by example made them standout candidates for this role.

We are incredibly excited to see how Delilah and Charlotte grow into these leadership positions and the impact they will have across our junior playing group this season. We have no doubt they will help foster a fun, inclusive and supportive environment for all players.

Congratulations once again. We can’t wait to see what you both achieve in 2026!

What a fantastic night we had at our Parents vs Kids Match and Dance Fit session with Helen! 

A huge thank you to everyone who came along. It was a brilliant way for our Vipers community to connect, have fun and get to know each other off the court.

The Parents vs Kids game was full of laughs, energy and great moments… and we think it’s fair to say the parents may have enjoyed it even more than the kids! 

A special thank you to Helen for running an amazing Dance Fit session, and to Losi and all of the kids. You were all incredible and brought such great energy to the evening.

Events like this are what make Vipers Netball Club such a fun, supportive and welcoming community, and we’re so grateful to everyone who was part of it.

Awesome work everyone!

The 2026 season marks an exciting new chapter for Vipers Netball Club. With fresh leadership, new partnerships, and a renewed focus on long-term growth, we’re proud to share what’s ahead for our club community.

We’re excited to welcome our new committee for 2026, a passionate group dedicated to supporting our players, families, coaches, and umpires while building a strong and sustainable future for the club.

 

Our committee has been working hard behind the scenes to enhance operations, strengthen partnerships, and ensure Vipers continues to thrive both on and off the court.

From 2026, Vipers training will take place at Downey Park Netball Association (DPNA).

We understand that a change in venue can take some adjustment, and we want to reassure our members that this decision was made carefully and with the club’s long-term interests at heart. Our goal is not to inconvenience our existing members, but rather to future-proof the club and position Vipers for longevity and continued success.

This move provides:

• Improved training and facility access

• A strong, netball-focused environment

• Greater opportunities for player development, growth, and visibility

We believe this change will deliver lasting benefits for our players, families, and the wider Vipers community.

As part of our commitment to supporting the continued growth and development of Vipers Netball Club, we have been exploring opportunities that strengthen our competitive and developmental pathways while keeping our members’ best interests at the forefront.

One opportunity identified is forming an affiliate relationship with Pine Rivers Netball Association. This affiliation has the potential to broaden pathways for players, provide additional competitive opportunities, and strengthen our connection within the wider netball community.

To ensure this opportunity is the right fit for our club, Vipers will approach this carefully and responsibly. In 2026, we propose to undertake this opportunity as a trial by entering one team only under the Pine Rivers Netball Association.

This trial approach allows the club to:

• “Test the waters” in a controlled and low-risk way

• Evaluate operational, competitive, and logistical considerations

• Assess the overall experience and outcomes for players, families, and the club

Importantly, this trial enables us to gather meaningful feedback and determine whether the affiliation delivers clear and genuine benefits to our members.

Should the trial prove successful, this pathway could support increased participation, enhanced player development opportunities, and long-term growth for Vipers Netball Club in future seasons. Any decisions beyond the trial will be made with careful consideration and clear communication with our club community.

We see this as an exciting opportunity to explore new possibilities while remaining true to our values and commitment to our members.

We are proud to announce Tribal Sports as our new uniform supplier for 2026. Tribal Sports currently supplies the Queensland Firebirds, and we’re thrilled to partner with a brand that aligns with our vision for quality, performance, and professionalism.

We’re excited for what lies ahead and will be officially unveiling our new uniform design in the coming weeks, so keep an eye out for updates.

Our management committee has been working hard behind the scenes to secure a new club logo that truly represents Vipers — honouring who we are while embracing a fresh, modern look for the future.

This new logo reflects our growth as a club and will feature across our new apparel and branding moving forward.

As our club continues to grow, so does our need for community support. We are actively seeking assistance with:

• Grant applications

• Volunteer support across various roles

2026 Registration Fees:

• 1st family member – $420

• 2nd family member – $410

• 3rd & subsequent members – $400

Registration includes:

• New Tribal Sports playing dress with new logo

• Socks with new logo

The first 20 registered members will receive a Vipers umbrella (limited numbers remaining).

To ensure uniforms are ready for the season start, registrations must be completed by mid-March. Uniform production requires approximately 6 weeks, with the season commencing on Saturday, 2 May 2026.

Vipers family, we have some exciting news to share as we head into a fresh new season.

Our club is incredibly proud to support the International Netball Festival Foundation by donating all remaining discontinued Vipers uniform stock to their Not-For-Profit organisation. The International Netball Festival Foundation has a long history of bringing communities together through netball, supporting players from Australia, Fiji and New Zealand, and helping young athletes build confidence, broaden their experiences and stay active. Their work includes providing uniforms, resources and opportunities to players who may not otherwise have access to them and we are thrilled that our former Vipers gear will be put to such meaningful use.

A special thank you goes to Downey Park Netball Association who kindly allowed us to deliver our old uniform stock to their venue. They will be passing everything directly to the International Netball Festival Foundation over the New Year period and we are so grateful for their support in making this contribution possible.

This donation marks the beginning of a fresh chapter for Vipers Netball Club. We are very excited to share that our brand new uniform supplier for the 2026 season will be announced in the coming weeks. We cannot wait to reveal a bold new look that reflects the pride and passion of our club.
