Representative Netball

There are many different pathways for young people to be involved in representative netball. The two main pathways are offered through Downey Park Netball Association (DPNA) and Queensland Catholic Netball Association (QCNA).

Both associations operate from Downey Park Netball and towards the end of the calendar year operate a Player Development Program (PDP) and commence their representative selection process.

Representative Age

  • There are a number of different age groups for Representative Netball 
  • Both DPNA and QCNA rep teams will develop every player
  • Players can only play for one association, but can trial for both
  • Fees and uniform costs will be approximately the same for both


11 years (born 2014)

  • offered by both DPNA & QCNA, the 11 years representative teams play in a number of club carnivals as a representative team. Contact the respective associations for more information.

Prep for Rep
  • Downey Park is offering Prep for Rep opportunities for 11yrs players, coming in 2025! The DPNA Prep-For-Rep Program will introduce players born in 2014 to the DPNA Representative netball environment. Players will train alongside our Junior State Age (12 - 14yrs) teams and attend 2 carnivals as part of the DPNA Rep cohort.

Junior State Age Championships

12-14 years (born 2011 to 2013) 

  • Trials occur in Feb/Mar, please see specific association information below
  • An A, B and possibly a C team may be chosen in each age group with a maximum of 30-35 players selected

  • Teams A, B & C will attend a number of carnivals throughout the rep season in the lead up to the Junior State Age Championships.
  • Teams A, B & C will attend Junior State Age Championships
  • Rep Training: DPNA - Tuesday evening, QCNA - Sunday afternoon at Downey Park 
  • Junior State Age Championships will be held at the Sunshine Coast from Saturday July 5th - Tuesday July 8th, 2025

Senior State Age Championships

15-17 years (born 2008 to 2010) 

  • Trials occur in Nov, please see specific association information below
  • An A, B and possibly a C team may be chosen in each age group with a maximum of 30-35 players selected

    • Teams A, B & C will attend a number of carnivals throughout the rep season in the lead up to the Junior State Age Championships.
    • Teams A, B & C will attend Senior State Age Championships
  • Rep Training: DPNA - Tuesday evening, QCNA - Thursday evening at Downey Park 
  • Senior State Age Championships will be held over 4 days during the Easter holidays (Saturday April 12th to Tuesday April 15th, 2025). The event will be held at Ipswich Netball Association
